Session 1 - Welcome!

Welcome to the Impact Hub Network! We are excited that you want to bring Impact Hub to your city!

What is essential to start an Impact Hub, you might ask?

Impact Hubs are ideally initiated by a team of 3-5 locally based co-founders. This helps that the social entrepreneurship center is rooted in its community and context. It is important to keep the community at the core while building the Impact Hub as your business. We recommend engaging your future community early on, making it a grassroots movement aimed at a positive change in your city and beyond.

What is this course about?

This course supports you in the first steps of founding an Impact Hub from scratch. As you progress through this curriculum, you will build your application for becoming an Impact Hub Candidate. You will work through guidelines and activities for the application process, dive into the best practices of the network and assess if it's a good idea to start Impact Hub in your local context.

The course focuses on 3 main areas that are the most essential ones when starting - Team, Community & Market Context. For each area, you have an exercise to complete in order to finalize your application for becoming an Impact Hub Candidate.

Make sure to make the most out of the process of founding an Impact Hub:

  • Tip 1 - Building an Impact Hub is a team effort - make sure to work through this course together. The more time you invest into building a joint understanding within your team, the better!
  • Tip 2 - By building an Impact Hub, you aim to become a co-owner of this network. Make sure to get to know the network, visit Impact Hubs nearby, or simply reach out to founders for a coffee chat.
  • Tip 3 - Feeling lost or you have questions and need support, reach out to our Growth team at any point of the journey. We are here to help and support you along the way!
